Nick will talk about ambassadorial buildings and the role they have played in the past and how that role has evolved. The ‘Embassy’, the office, has gradually eclipsed the ‘Residence’, the seat of the grand Ambassador analogous with the town house of the nobleman.

Nick was lucky to have been posted to a series of fine architectural cities and his thoughts on the relationship of these important civic buildings to their hosts will be most enlightening. He is now Clerk of the Girdlers Company.
