Our Rivers Run Through Us - Secrets of the Stour

Secrets of the Stour is an original performance which reflects a sense of place intertwined with personal and mythical stories which shine a light on how crucial our river ecology is for us.

Set in the watermeadows and along the banks of the River Stour in a hidden part of Wimborne, 'Secrets of the Stour' is the second part of Wimborne Community Theatre's 'Our Rivers Run Through Us' project. This innovative performance featuring specially written music and song, giant puppets and interactive scenes, has been developed by members of WCT, written and directed by Tony Horitz, in collaboration with artistic director Joe Hancock, Millstream artistic director Tam Gilbert, musician and composer Karen Wimhurst and sound artist Adrian Newton.

Gates open at 7.15pm, performance starts at 7.30pm prompt.

The performance on Friday 8th July will be a British Sign Language interpreted performance.

PLEASE NOTE:

Tickets are non-refundable - the performance will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions.

This is a promenade performance conducted along a short 1km route through fields and along the river bank, the ground will be a little uneven in places and may be difficult for wheelchair users and those with mobility concerns. Special transport is available for wheelchair users and those with impaired mobility, please get in touch with Rachel of White Sheep Projects (rachel@whitesheepprojects.co.uk) for further information before booking.

Parking is in town centre car parks, these are a 5-10 minute walk from the start of the performance. Limited parking for wheelchair users and those with mobility impairments is available on the site, please confirm spaces are available and reserve one before booking a ticket.
