Event Information
About this Event
The African and Caribbean community in the UK have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic with high rate of infection, deaths and exposure to Covid-19 as front line workers. This has impacted the community in other ways as they are experiencing increasing food poverty, limited access to statutory provisions, homelessness, increasing cases of domestic violence, children unable to access e-learning platforms, people with no recourse to public fund and undocumented migrants with no support, mental health issues and bereavement
This is on the back of historical racial inequalities, limited economic opportunities, hostile environment and social determinants of health that has negatively affected the outcomes of members of the African and Caribbean community.
