Ousting the imposter which can impact your business
Wed 17 May 2017, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
Paul Rouke runs PRWD, the highly successful conversion optimisation agency which he grew from just a 2 man agency in 2013 to one with over 15 people helping brands including Moss Bros, Sage, MBNA, Bensons, MoneySupermarket, Schuh and Wilko become more customer centric. He is also an international keynote speaker at events including Conversion World and Elite Camp, a published author of The Growth Strategy That's Being Ignored, and the pioneer of the industries most in-depth Conversion Optimisation Maturity Model.
So why does Paul often feel like a fraud?
Imposter Syndrome affects more people than you'd think. The International Journal of Behavioural Science reports that up to 70% could experience it and that it often is a lead into stress, anxiety and depression.
Paul is not alone either as regular risk-takers, entrepreneurs and business owners like yourself are more likely to experience it
While Paul is now managing it well, it will always be there for him and for many years he believes it held him back and limited his success. He now believes it's his purpose to raise awareness of it and how to manage it so that others don't limit their own potential.
This is a new departure for Giants Academy. We normally focus on the commercial or organisational challenges to growth. This time, we are looking at you and why how you think might be limiting your business growth too.
I'll be talking to Paul about his story and what strategies have helped him manage his internal imposter, followed by a Q&A and the opportunity to what you can do to combat this within yourself and your people.
How does the evening run?
After some coffees (or beers) to get us settled in, we will spend some time with Paul to hear about his experiences and then take questions to expand the discussion further. The main points are then debriefed and a short peer-learning activity is set for the Giants to work on in small groups. We then come back together to share the main learnings and each Giant is tasked with identifying the one thing they will take back to the workplace.
We do have a few house rules
- No selling - it's not a battle to pass your card to everyone in the room
- Owners/Senior team only - by keeping it at this level, you can be sure you'll be learning alongside your peers
- Have fun & learn something new
What does it cost?
If it's your first time, it's free! If you're returning, then it's £25, but once the cost of refreshments is taken for, the rest goes directly to charity - usually as much as £180 per event.
