San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
LGCM is delighted to offer our members and friends an opportunity to hear Rev Glenna Shepherd reading from her new book. This will be an intimate gathering with time to chat with Glenna, and to explore a range of issues arising out of her work.
Out on a Limb: Sermons of Risk and Revolution is a collection of homilies that focus on liberating spirituality. Beginning with ancient scriptural texts, Rev. Glenna Shepherd, a minister in the United Church of Christ (USA), explores the intersections of current political and social issues and the radical messages of the prophets of Judeo-Christian scriptures. She brings a new perspective to current issues that often divide and alienate modern people from religion: gender, sexuality, race - immigration, marriage, and nationalism - a perspective that offers openness and hope for embracing a liberating spiritual life for today.
