Description

Fife Voluntary Action are working with Social Firms Scotland to organise an evening training session on ‘budgeting and financial governance for Outcome-based Payment Methods.

This training is delivered in partnership with Social Firms Scotland, Social Investment Scotland and brings ‘lived experience’ of OBP from the Cyrenians.

This session will provide a basic overview of the following:

- The commissioning landscape and why we need to pay attention to outcomes based payment models

- How to assess the viability of a contract/opportunity

- Risk Assessment

  • understanding the risks involved; balanced against the opportunities
  • the importance of ongoing contract management

- Financial Management

  • financial planning/forecasting, cashflow management
  • applying 'sensitivity analysis'

- Non-financial considerations

Participants will also get the opportunity to work together to discuss the implications of OBP for third sector partners in Fife and explore what needs to happen next.

Contracts let on outcome-based payments are going to be an increasing part of the funding picture for any organisation working in the realm of employability and we need to get better at understanding the opportunities and risks it presents.
