Community gardens, school grounds and local greenspaces all offer learning and play opportunities for children and young people (and adults too!). How can the development of garden and growing projects such as Green Gyms link to the school curriculum? What games and activities can be organised using simple and (free!) natural materials. What are the benefits of such activities to particular audiences, and what outdoor spaces can be used?
This learning and networking workshop will hear from The Conservation Volunteers, East Ayrshire Coalfield Environment Initiative, Vibrant Communities, and Education Scotland. It’s an opportunity to share experiences, pick up some tips, and make contacts for the future. This free event (lunch included) is suitable for interested individuals plus staff and volunteers from schools, community groups and other organisations who have a space they currently use for outdoor learning activities, or are thinking about it and looking for some ideas and inspiration!
This event is supported by Scottish Natural Heritage and Central Scotland Green Network Trust
