Event description

Description

Lancaster University is pleased to host the Outreach without Borders symposium in May 2018.

The purpose of the symposium is to bring together academics and professional services to discuss challenges and opportunities in science outreach and widening participation. The symposium will feature presentations on innovative science outreach initiatives for children, adolescents and adults that are based in the UK or abroad. Presenters will reflect on their experience – what worked and what didn’t. We will conclude with a Round Table to discuss the way ahead.

The symposium schedule and list of speakers can be found on this page.

Participation is free of charge (and includes coffee, tea and pastéis de nata…) but there is a limited number of spaces and prior registration is required. Please register via Eventbrite by Monday, May 7, 2018.

An initiative of the Heritage Language Consortium

The symposium is an initiative of the Heritage Language Consortium, a new strategic partnership between Tübingen University, Lancaster University, the University of Lisbon, the University of Minho, NOVA University of Lisbon, the University of Porto, and the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For more information, please consult our website or email p.rebuschat@lancaster.ac.uk.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of Lancaster University's Widening Participation Program.
