Event description

Description

After such a fantastic turn out for the Halloween "GDPR: Don't Get Bitten!" event in October we are running a 2nd bite event to satisfy GDPR inquisitive souls!

**Please note that this event will contain some material from our original event**

GDPR | 25 May 2018. You will have almost certainly heard about it. Yet very few small and medium-sized employers really understand the implications. And you really do need to properly understand the implications of GDPR.

Search the web and you will find a plethora of articles which purport to explain the changes that GDPR will bring to HR practice. But the explanations in many of those articles pose as many unspoken practical questions as they provide answers. In person expertise, delivered in plain English, about what GDPR actually means for employers is far harder to come by.

You will leave our seminar with clear answers to all of the above questions, and many more like them. Our intention is that our GDPR seminar will provide delegates with the confidence they need to enable them to properly get to grips with GDPR compliance within their own organisations.

The event is primarily aimed at business leaders, senior managers, and in-house HR professionals.

Questions you may already be considering:

  • What are the key changes that GDPR will bring, and exactly how will they affect an employer HR function?

  • What does undertaking a “data protection audit” actually mean in practice, and why is it important?

  • What are “privacy notices”; why are they important: what should they contain; and why will privacy notices become the bedrock of data protection compliance for employers?

  • Why is it that employers can expect to receive a far greater number of subject access requests under GDPR? And how can employers take practical steps to streamline their subject access request response processes?

  • Does GDPR really mean that small and medium-size employers will start facing huge fines for data protection non-compliance? How big is the risk really?

We know that GDPR compliance is a big source of worry for employers at the moment, and we look forward to helping remove the fear and offer sensible risk based actions.

A refreshments will be provided, and there will be ample time to ask questions and to network with other business guests and the Outset team. Please allow time to join us for a refreshment after the session.
