Session 1: Over 55s 'And Breathe' Collage Workshop
Saturday 11th October

The first workshop in ...And Breathe, a series of four creative community sessions designed to explore our relationship with stress, the ocean, and each other.

In this session, participants will use collage to reflect on their personal sources of stress and explore memories, feelings, and associations connected to the sea. Through guided prompts and hands-on creativity, you’ll begin to reimagine the ocean as a calming, restorative presence.

-------

Session 2: Over 55s 'And Breathe' 360 Filmmaking Workshop

The second workshop in ...And Breathe takes participants on a journey to the coast for a group visit to Devil’s Point, a wild and inspiring local site. Here, participants will capture video footage and field recordings that will later form part of an immersive 360° film installation.

This hands-on session introduces participants to 360° cameras and the basics of filming while exploring how time spent by the sea can provide relief and connection.

No technical skills are needed - equipment and guidance will be provided.

-------

Session 3 - Over 55s 'And Breathe' Sound Workshop
Saturday 8th November

The third session in the ...And Breathe series focuses on sound design and foley – the art of creating evocative, atmospheric sounds.

Together, participants will experiment with recorded sounds and found objects to design an “anxious tunnel”soundscape representing stress, and a contrasting “free sea” soundscape evoking calmness and release.

These sounds will later be integrated into the final immersive film experience. This session is playful, collaborative, and entirely beginner-friendly.

-------

Session 4 - Over 55s 'And Breathe' Editing Workshop
Saturday 22nd November

The fourth and final session in ...And Breathe invites participants to step into the role of curators and storytellers.

Together, the group will explore all the collages, recordings, and footage created throughout the project and make collective decisions about how to shape the final 360° immersive film experience.

This session is open to both returning participants and newcomers. No technical skills are needed - the focus is on conversation, storytelling, and selecting the sounds, images, and ideas that best capture the journey from stress and overwhelm to calm and release.
