Please go to: Overcoming Barriers: Neurodiversity in Autism 2

Improve your understanding of issues and strengths that people on the Autism Spectrum experience.

In recent years our understanding of neurodiversity in autistic people has increased significantly. This has provided us with greater insight into the strengths and challenges experienced by autistic people. In turn this greater understanding has helped in developing approaches to support that best meet the needs of this population.

The event draws together experts from academic and clinical backgrounds together with experts by experience to share developments in the understanding of neurodiversity in autism with a focus on building strengths and supporting skills in domains where challenges are experienced.

This conference is of particular relevance to professionals working in clinical and support settings, family members and autistic people. There will be opportunity to consider the application of recent research exploring neurodiversity in autism within both clinical contexts and the day to day lives of autistic people, drawing on the lived knowledge of experts by experience.
