Bias exists in us all and helps us navigate a multitude of decisions we make every day often unconsciously. This can have an impact on key decisions at work from hiring, promotion to how rate a colleague’s performance. However when we become aware of our own biases and what triggers them we can do something about it and make more inclusive decisions that have a positive impact in the workplace.

This webinar will introduce you to the concept of unconscious bias, understand how it shows up in the workplace including during key decisions and practical strategies for addressing it within your role and how to disrupt systemic bias at an organisational level to help you progress to become a more inclusive employer and inclusive leader during these unprecedented times. This includes some personal top tips you can implement straight away and top tips for how to proactively manage unconscious bias in the workplace.

About Victoria Dale:

A highly accomplished Diversity and Inclusion Consultant and Trainer with extensive experience working with clients in the public, private and voluntary sector. A strong advocate of an evidence-based approach, Victoria works closely with each client building D&I into their ways of working that fits with their vision, supports and enhances their best asset- their employees and also their products/services.

With her background in local government and regional economic development, Victoria has gained a lot of knowledge about the challenges facing employers and businesses across a range of industries from small businesses to large companies and government organisations and what works in terms of addressing challenges around recruitment, compliance and creating an inclusive working culture and designing inclusive products or services that meet the needs of a more diverse customer base.

Victoria has supported clients on strategic and operational programmes and projects including co-producing the Mayor of London’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Evidence Base, designing and implementing robust Equality and Diversity Strategies and Delivery Plans, conducted Diversity Audits, designing and delivering bespoke training and advising employers on practical measures around recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce, unconscious bias in the workplace and general Diversity and Inclusion courses.

Her enthusiasm, passion and detailed knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion issues as a training facilitator, she uses this to inspire, engage and encourage everyone’s participation and help deliver real positive results. Her approach is described as interactive, supportive, practical and fun. She involves participants in challenging and exciting activities which inspire and empowers people to identify very practical ways to apply what they have learned when back at work.

Key areas of expertise are: Training and Facilitation, Research, Audit and Evaluation.
