About this event

We're staying late at the Mills this Autumn to bring you the Overtime Art Club sessions! Come along for relaxed evenings of zine making, photography and more - all facilitated by local artists and inspired by our current exhibition Many Hands.

You're welcome to bring your own drinks to the session, we'll provide all the materials you'll need.

This session with Wes Foster will take the form of a semi-psychogeographic exploration of Sunny Bank Mills. After a short introduction, participants will set out on a guided walk with ‘derivé bingo’ cards. These cards will hold prompts to capture places, feelings, smells, textures and sights around the site through writing.

Participants will also use thermal print cameras to create quick, lo-fi, physical images alongside their written fragments.

With an emphasis on exploration and play, we will use the writings and images we have collected through the session to create our own reflection of the spaces we’ve visited.

The session will include a short tour of the Sunny Bank Mills site, included some rarely seen disused spaces.

PLEASE NOTE - The tour at the start of the session will involve entering spaces with low lighting, uneven flooring and step-only access. Please wear suitable outdoor footwear and clothing - it may be wet and cold during the workshop.

Suitable for ages 15+. No experience needed.
