About this event

HEARD OF DIGITAL TWINS? FEEL LEFT BEHIND?

This free session is for anyone new to Digital Twins, BIM and Information Management concepts in the Built Environment sectors.

We start with the BASICS. We explain any tech jargon / concepts in Plain English. (We know what it's like when you are new to a topic!).

We will give an overview to Digital Twins, the value they have and how links with existing and Location Intelligence / Geospatial / GIS solutions and technologies are driving innovation.

WHEN: 14:30 LONDON | 09:30 NEW YORK | 16:30 Hong Kong

CONTEXT: Over the past 15 or so years there are been many initiatives and documents (such as standards) specifically related to digital transformation in the built environment sectors in the UK - 'BIM' and more recently 'Digital Twins'. This work has been supported by the Central UK Government and has delivered some amazing outputs, changes and outcomes.

However, as there is so much that has taken-place and is happening, that it is very likely you will not have heard about it all ! We want to help you baseline your knowledge of Digital Twins.

We use the main sources in the UK when Digital Twins are referred to, such at the Gemini Principals, and explain the basics you need to know, such as how Digital Twins link to BIM (ISO 19650 series) and WHY you care if you work anywhere in the built environment / AEC / asset management sectors.

To summarise; this session provides an overview to Digital Twins, as they related to the UK Built and Natural Environment sectors.

============================================================

Source, UK Government:

"Digital Twins: To enable better decisions, we must enable information to be shared across traditional sector silos. Through the creation and active management of digital twins of our infrastructure we will be able to better understand our built environment. The concept of a series of interconnected digital twins, a National Digital Twin, should unlock better overall performance through better management of the system of systems.

The National Digital Twin programme is creating a system to enable this; the Information Management Framework (IMF)."

============================================================

WHAT IS A DIGITAL TWIN? (According to the UK Government, see the ‘Gemini Principals’)

Digital Twin 1:

A dynamic model of an asset, with input of current performance data from the physical twin via live data flows from sensors; feedback into the physical twin via real-time control.

Digital Twin 2:

A static strategic planning model of a system, with input of long-term condition data from the physical twin via corporate systems; feedback into the physical twin via the capital investment process

============================================================

This seminar is NOT linked to any other company, organisation, nor the UK Government.

This is a free educational session to help up-skill those new to these concepts, by promoting and explaining Digital Twins and the need for improved Information Management (BIM), aligned to the UK Government's initiatives.

This educational seminar is brought to you by BimEnable, part of GeoEnable Ltd.
