Did you know that barn owls live in Weymouth and Portland. Join this family event at Lorton Meadows Conservation Centre for a morning dedicated to these handsome birds and the animals they prey on.
Rather like fur balls produced by cats, owl pellets contain the bones, feathers and fur of their recent meals. Using tweezers and magnifying glasses we will tease apart the pellets and identify the skulls etc within using special id charts. You can also take some of your finds home with you.
Please be aware that there may be areas of uneven muddy ground so wear wellingtons or walking boots. This event is suitable for families with children from 4 to 15 yrs old. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
