Oxford Brookes Philosophy Public Lecture: Charles Taliaferro
Wed 22 March 2017, 19:00 – 20:30 GMT
The Oxford Brookes Philosophy Public Lectures presents an evening with Charles Taliferro, who will be discussing 'Philosophy can help you keep your head, when all about you are loosing theirs'.
Professor Taliaferro will argue that the practice of philosophy is (ideally) non-strategic and a natural aid to self-awareness. He will also provide a defense of the philosophical integrity of self-awareness against its detractors in epistemology, philosophy of language, and metaphysics.
Charles Taliaferro is Professor of Philosophy at St Olaf College and a world renowned philosopher of religion. He has written an array of books including 'Aesthetics', 'Philosophy of Religion' and 'Love, Love, Love and Other Essays'.
This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
