Event description

Description

Join us for an engaging talk by local historian Mark Davies about Oxford Castle. Hear about Elizabeth Boswell, who escaped the castle not once but twice and the enigmatic Peter le Maitre. Mark asks if he could have been the French revolutionary Marat? Mark’s work covers Anne Green, who survived her hanging to become an instant celebrity, amongst others. Expect stories of imprisonment, transportation, escape, and execution as Mark sheds new light on the enthralling story of this major Oxford landmark.

All money raised through our events goes towards the development of the new museum.

We know the cost of this ticket is more than the advertised price, however using this fantastic booking website comes at a cost. We are passing on the handling fee so that you have the choice to book in advance and avoid disappointment on the day.

The talk begins at 6pm and doors will open at 5.45pm.
