On Tuesday 5th December 2023, join us to hear about the challenges and Oxford-based opportunities in early cancer detection, and how you can apply your research to this field.
We are delighted to have David Hunter (Oxford Population Health), Caroline Dive (Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute) and Samra Turajlic (Francis Crick Institute) as our keynote speakers and there will be sessions themed on:
• Cancer Epidemiology, featuring Julia Hippisley-Cox, Ruth Travis and David Hunter
• Working with Patients, featuring Steph Phillips and Miriam Dixon-Zegeye
• Cancer Detection Using Liquid Biopsies, featuring Brian Nicholson, Anna Schuh and Caroline Dive
• Early Cancer Biology, featuring Adam Mead, Simon Buczacki and Samra Turajlic
The Symposium will also feature lightning talks and an early cancer detection poster session (abstract submission deadline, 14th November; see guidance below). See the Oxford Centre for Early Cancer Detection webpage for a flavour of the research that will be presented.
The day will end with a drinks and canapés reception to give you an opportunity to network and build connections.
This free event is for members of Oxford University and OUHFT only.

Poster guidance
If you would like to submit an abstract for consideration for the poster session you will need to follow the guidelines below:
• The abstract must be no longer than 200 words, submitted in Word format.
• Please include a title, author list and your primary departmental affiliation.
• All abstracts must be submitted to francoise.howe@ludwig.ox.ac.uk by Tuesday 14th November. Late abstracts will not be accepted.
• All people submitting abstracts must also register via Eventbrite
• In the event of oversubscription, poster places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
• Posters should be printed in portrait orientation and be no larger than A0 to fit the poster display boards.
