The Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence is pleased to host its 14th event of 2013. Sweet group invite Constructing Excellence to a guided tour of the impressive Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
The visit will provide visitors with: A tour of a brand new affiliated Oxford College designed by an Islamic renowned Architect. The building and its various functions will be described to visitors along with information on how materials have been procured from Islamic nations. The building and fit-out will fascinate all visitors through its use of material and quality of detail.
This beautiful new building blends the architectural features of the traditional Oxford colleges with the forms and styles of the classical period of Islam. The result is a unique symbol of the harmony between two ancient traditions of scholarship brought together for the pursuit of knowledge. It will provide a focal point for international collaboration, and will accommodate those academic, social, and residential facilities essential for the collegiate life of a community of scholars.

Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence
The Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence was established in 2000 and our members include clients in the local area, together with designers, consultants, contractors, academics, specialists and suppliers. Our aim is to enable joined up thinking between members of the construction industry and to establish Oxford as a centre of excellence in construction. We will be running events throughout the year to share industry knowledge and best practice and provide networking opportunities. We welcome local companies involvement, and support from local authorities, business and academia.
