Tue 18 October 2016, 13:00 – 18:00 BST
This conference brings together representatives of governments, public institutions, multinationals, state and private enterprises, media and academia, to deliberate on pertinent issues concerning China’s involvement in Africa’s infrastructure sector including:
Infrastructure financing: what percentage share of Chinese financing goes into the African infrastructure sector? What are the various sources and channel of financing? Who is involved in the African infrastructure value chain? What, if any, are the areas of priority in financing projects? What sectors stand to gain the most?
Development finance: how does Chinese infrastructure financing differ from other development financing in Africa?
Structural transformation and South-South Cooperation: What impact can we see from this cooperation? Have there been any significant changes in society as far as financing goes? If so, is this change positive or negative?
What is the future of China-Africa partnership, relative to South-South cooperation? What are the projections in growth of infrastructure in Africa? What is the role of African governments in steering China-Africa partnerships?
