The 2018 Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC) will be held in the Oxford Town Hall on 4th & 5th January. As always, this unique gathering of the UK's sustainable and organic food and farming movements will offer a practical mix of on-farm advice, showcasing new techniques for best practice in agroecological farming, as well as broader discussions on what is needed for creating real change in our broken food system. This year, we will also have a room dedicated to all things Brexit.

ORFC delegates come from across the food and farming sector, with an interest in new agricultural models. Those interested in meeting global food system challenges in innovative, environmentally sustainable ways. Meet the people putting new models of farming into practice, be inspired by those who have been farming for some time, and connect with other farmers facing their own challenges in producing good food for healthy communities. The ORFC is a unique opportunity to connect with new, young and emerging farmers; from those taking over the family farm, to those innovating in unusual urban spaces.

This two-day event offers opportunities to connect with other farmers, hear from experts in the field, and participate in discussions and workshops, as well as enjoying a locally-sourced evening reception and even a bit of dancing!

Why have we raised the ticket price this year?

Thanks to our sponsors and funders we have over the years been able to subsidise the cost of the conference tickets to delegates. This is a very important part of what the ORFC is all about. We do not want anyone to be excluded because of the price. However, this year despite huge fundraising efforts by the ORFC team we will be unable to subsidise the ticket price by as much as last year.

The conference costs over £71,000 to organise.

Our fundraising will still enable us to subsidise the cost of the ticket by 45 percent but in order to cover our costs we have had to raise the ticket price by £10. This is something we have not done lightly and you can be sure that next year we will be looking again to do our best to raise more funds to secure the highest possible subsidy.
