Event description
Organised by the Oxfordshire Growth Board, this event brings together speakers to promote the delivery of low carbon affordable housing.

About this Event

Join us for a webinar aimed at inspiring and encouraging more low carbon affordable housing developments across Oxfordshire. We are delighted to introduce a range of expert speakers to showcase exemplar developments, discuss the local and national policy environment and how to meet the challenges for delivery. The event will comprise individual presentations and panel discussions.

Low and zero carbon policies are now a priority across all Oxfordshire councils and the Oxfordshire Growth Board are keen to champion the exchange of good practice and guidance on sustainable, low and zero carbon construction, promoting uptake and setting local expectations.

Programme

The event will be chaired by Councillor Susan Brown (Leader of Oxford City Council) with speakers:

  • Andrew Turnbull, Norwich City Council: Goldsmith Street, a case study
  • Clara Bagenal George, Elementa Consulting: Proposed Net Zero requirements for Salt Cross village and the links to LETI’s Climate Emergency Design Guide
  • David Scrimgeour and Kim Swallowe, Build! at Cherwell District Council: Low carbon affordable housing: Local case study, policy and delivery
  • Debbie Haynes, Oxford City Council: Moving to a low carbon future
  • Ian Pritchett, Greencore Construction: Delivering zero-carbon now
  • Professor Rajat Gupta, Oxford Brookes University: Low carbon housing performance: State of the nation review

Information relating to the Oxfordshire Housing and Growth Deal, and how this can support the delivery of affordable low carbon housing, will also be provided.
