Please read the following information before signing up:

  • Please arrive at 9:30 for a safety briefing. You will be on the water from 10-11
  • You will be responsible for making your own way to and from the venue
  • These sessions will all be pitched at complete beginners and so there is no requirement to attend all the sessions
  • You must be confident in the water and be able to swim at least 25m
  • Buoyancy Aids will be provided for you to wear on the water
  • Please arrive ready to paddle. It is suggested to arrive in swimwear and comfortable leisure clothes, although wetsuits are provided. Fleeces, tracksuit or puffed jackets not advisable.
  • Please remember to bring a change of clothes, hat, towel and water bottle. Advised to use sunscreen regardless of conditions
  • ‘Barefoot’ paddling is best but please bring footwear with you to wear to walk down to launch point
  • If you require the use of prescription glasses, we have glasses retainers/bands for you to use.
  • Please do not take your mobile phone out on the water. We cannot guarantee its safety.
  • This activity is targeted at Adults 18+. Those aged 16-18 must be accompanied on the water with parent/legal guardian.
  • All participants must be in good health. All participants will be required to complete a Health Declaration Form upon arrival. If any participant has tested positive for Covid they will not be permitted to attend. All medical conditions must be declared in advance. Any concerns regarding participation should be raised with their GP/medical professional. If any participant requires ‘on-water’ medical support, eg. Inhaler for asthma, then this must be passed over to the Instructor before lesson commencement who will carry it on their person in a waterproof case.
  • Our boards have maximum weight capacity of 120Kg/18 stone. The impact is on the stability of the board and your enjoyment. Furthermore, you must be able to ‘self rescue’ (ie re-mount the board). If it is deemed unsafe for you to continue then we will unfortunately request that you leave the experience.
  • If at any time during the experience you feel unwell or discomfort, this must be raised immediately with either Instructor or Oxfordshire Mind representative.
