'OxNet North West Teachers' and Advisors' Conference
Wednesday 28th September 2016
University of Manchester, University Place
2.00pm - 5.00pm
OxNet is an initiative led by the University of Oxford which seeks to place Oxford colleges into the heart of local communities, delivering activity which is intensive, sustained and academic. It actively targets pupils from under-represented social groups, generating positive change in attitude, aspiration and attainment.
The OxNet Teachers' & Advisors' Conference is aimed at representatives from state schools/colleges in the North West region. Through talks and workshops, the event will raise questions about what we mean by 'raising aspirations' among disadvantaged students and highlight the vital ways in which teachers and advisors can support students' educational ambitions. It will also detail the interventions that the University of Oxford and partner institutions can offer to prepare students for entry into Oxford, Cambridge, and other Russell Group universities.'
