Join us online from 4pm on Thursday the 25th of May as we chat to Kiran Millwood Hargrave about her book, The Girl of Ink & Stars.
We're delighted that the best-selling author, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, will be joining us for Oxplore Book Club in May.
The Girl of Ink & Stars was Kiran's debut novel, and the striking fantasy tale about a mapmaker's daughter on a quest to save her island, captured reader's imaginations and won heaps of awards. We hope you love this book as much as we do!
During the event, Kiran will be talking about the inspiration behind The Girl of Ink & Stars. There will also be an extended Q&A, which will be your opportunity to share your thoughts on the book and learn more about the characters, themes and process of writing.
Taking Part
Oxplore Book Club Live is designed as a super-curricular activity for young people aged 11-14. Participation is free and the only technical requirements are internet access and a free Zoom account.
The session will be recorded, so to protect your privacy we'd prefer it if you keep your camera and microphone switched off. We encourage you to use the live chat function to contribute your ideas and opinions on the book.

Kiran Millwood Hargrave is an award winning playwright, poet and YA novelist. She is best known for The Girl of Ink & Stars, The Island at the End of Everything, The Way Past Winter, and The Deathless Girls. As a poet she has found success internationally and her debut adult novel, The Mercies, was released in 2020 to widespread acclaim.
