OXTERED TO THE BOTHY will be releasing their brand-spanking new project album at the beginning of October. To help celebrate the release, a launch gig featuring the new music and sounds shall be held at the fantastic Stereo Cafe Bar.
Oxtered's project album explores some awesome new arrangements, as well as collaborations alongside other terrfic musicians and artists, such as Robyn Ada McKay, Ailie Anderson, Amy Kennedy and Partick Shand.
Oxtered to the Bothy are a collaboration of musicians, each from their own musical backgrounds. The principle focus of the group is to create fusion music, which incorporates various musical styles, with the aim of forming exiting new sounds. Folk, trad, jazz, funk and Balkan all influnence the original music that is written and arranged by members, which eventually combines to form complex, and highly engaging pieces of music.
Alongside OTTB, there will be performances from the tremendous:
Inyal are Conal McDonagh, Owen Sinclair, Robbie Greig and Hamish Macleod. Coming together from four different corners of Scotland, Inyal are as influenced by the traditional music of their native land as they are it's eclectic underground scene. Their sound is enchanting, layering subtle electronics and twisted beats with intricate fiddle and pipes.
JOSIE DUNCAN AND PABLO LAFUENTE
Josie Duncan and Pablo Lafuente are an exciting new Scottish song-based duo. Since joining forces at Celtic Connections 2016, the two have been busy combining their rich musical backgrounds and performing in and around Glasgow.
