About Artesano de Argento
Planted at high altitude (between 900-1,100 metres above sea level), Artesano's vines soak up the bright sunshine and the clearest water from the Andes. Bodega Argento does not use pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilisers in their soils. Instead, the viticultural team uses 21st-century technology, science and research, to grow the very best grapes organically and reduce the need for intervention in the vineyard.
Juan Pablo Murgia, Chief Winemaker for Artesano de Argento, describes his winemaking philosophy: 'Naturally-managed soil produces better quality grapes than intensively-farmed vineyards. The vines grow happier, the roots grow deeper and stronger. The vineyard is brimming with life and finds its natural balance. Organic viticulture is better for the environment and the natural world.’
Bodega Argento is the largest producer of organic wine in Mendoza. With 305 hectares of its own vineyards already certified in 2019, it is on a journey towards full organic certification for all of its own estates. Bodega Argento proudly received full sustainability certification in December 2019. Waste water recycling, the use of drip irrigation and 100% recycling of packaging are the sustainable initiatives already in place. Bodega Argento has already received full Fairtrade accreditation for all of its vineyards. @BodegaArgento
