Pa-Kua Chinese Archery
Overview
Important: The class will start with a warmup, which includes running and stretching. Please wear appropriate clothing. It is also recommended to attend in long sleeved tops to protect the arm.
Note: the number of tickets is limited by the amount of our equipment. If the tickets are out, or you have your own recurve bow and/or arrows, please contact us at cambridge@pakuauk.com to see what can be done.
About the classes: Pa-Kua is an international school of martial arts established in 1976, where we teach a system based on multiple styles and ancient Chinese knowledge. We offer a unique approach which emphasizes family atmosphere, personalized attention, acceptance of all people, and individual evolution.
Our archery is a Ming Dynasty Chinese style, using thumb draw technique with archery thumb rings. We use traditionally shaped bows, bamboo arrows, and we also incorporate martial art elements.
The main website of Pa-Kua is at pakua.com with information on the studios around the world, and on the history of the school. Our local site at pakua-cambridge.co.uk has information about the branch in Cambridge.
If you wish to read more about our archery, there is an excellent article written by Pa-Kua Master Sérgio M. de Souza.
