PACC's Spring Conference 2017 is focusing on supporting schools and parent carers to work together, to provide early and effective support for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities. This conference will be particularly of interest for those families who have children or young people at the SEN Support level who do not have an Education, Health and Care plan, however the information about working in partnership with schools or services that provide early intervention will be of value to all parent carers.
Our opening speaker is Jane Friswell. Jane is the former CEO of Nasen, the Director at SEND Consultancy and Co-founder of SENDRadicals. She is passionate about improving outcomes for those with SEND and is a parent carer herself. She will be sharing her experiences of working with schools to improve support for children and young people with SEND.
We will also be joined by members of the Shropshire SEN Team and Early Help Team. Sharon Graham, Early Help Manager will be introducing the Early Help Pathway and how it can support children and young people with SEND.
There will be two workshops held in the afternoon. The first will explore how parent carer participation can be developed in a school setting and will contribute to a participation toolkit that PACC is developing for schools. The second workshop will look at the development of a multi agency graduated support pathway. This pathway will offer early interventions for young people with SEND across education, health and social care.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided and as always it is a great opportunity for parent carers to catch up with each other. We hope that you will join us on the day
