Event description

Description

A practical session giving casting researchers, assistant producers and producers the confidence to approach and assemble a diverse cast of stellar contributors in productions in factual genres.

This interactive workshop will give casting teams the tools to formulate a successful strategy and find ways to engage effectively with harder-to-access communities. We will consider diversity in its broadest sense - gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability and social mobility. We will also have an informal 30-minute Q & A session.

Topics covered include:

  • Accessing communities

  • Finding the right language

  • Navigating social media

This workshop has been designed by Pact and Mel Walden (pictured below), an experienced Casting Executive.
