This ONLINE event will suit those wishing to take the course, those who wish to refresh their knowledge and those who are just interested and want to see what its all about before they do the full course.

Below is the full out line of the course - information about refreshers and the taster course follows

Full Course Outline

It is the goal of this course to train all divers (PADI Junior Open Water Divers and above) and those in a position to help divers (boat captains, lifeguards, etc.) in the proper use of emergency oxygen.

This entry-level emergency oxygen course also teaches the recognition of diving illnesses treatable by emergency oxygen. Apart from some theory about how Oxygen is used in the human body, How Oxygen helps with Injuries, The dangers of Oxygen and maintenance of Oxygen Kit.

Skills you be able to practice and demonstrate will include

Assembly and Disassembly of Emergency Oxygen Equipment

Using a Non Rebreather Mask on a breathing patient

Using a Demand Inhalator valve for a breathing patient

Using a Pocket Mask with Oxygen for a non breathing patient

*Using a Manually Triggered Resuscitator valve use for a non breathing patient

* This is an optional skill, and will be assessed if the equipment is available. If the Equipment is not available then this will be simulated.

You will receive a certification at the end of this course which issued by a recognized training agency. This is an introductory level certification. (This will be a E-Card you will need the PADI app to display this)

Presentation of this certification should allow you to obtain 100% Oxygen from authorized outlets.

Whilst we appreciate the topic of the matter is serious, the course is taught in a fun, informal and relaxed environment. Group sizes are kept small so each student has more time with their Instructor.

Before attending this course you should have been trained in Basic Life Saving (CPR) - If you are not already trained in CPR we offer Emergency First Response courses that train you, and will offer a discount if you do both courses together. You can do the online section of the Emergency Oxygen Provider course if not trained in CPR, but advise you to do one of our First Aid Taster courses online before.

The full course includes a participants manual. This will be posted to you with in 14 days of the course date. If you book on the course within 14days then the manual will be sent out as quickly as possible. This should be read and knowledge reviews completed before the practical session.

This course counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating.

Refresher Outline

As a training organization we recognize that skills and confidence diminish if skills are not used for some time. PADI Currently do not offer such courses, so this is not a PADI endorsed course though it does follow the course structure. You will not receive a PADI certificate, or manuals. You will receive a certificate of attendance though and access to our website which has resources relating to the course for 2 years after the course completion. You can opt to do the course online if your not in the Manchester area (we will not be able to assess your skills) or you can visit our venue for the course and the skills can be reviewed at the same time.

Taster Outline

The taster course is so you get an introduction to the course. You are able to sit in on the theory side of the Emergency Oxygen Provider Course. If you like what you see then you can enroll on the full course and we will give you £10 towards it (the price you pay for the taster. No certification, No Web Access and no manuals are provided to Taster Participants

NOTES TO ALL ATTENDEES

For Refresh or Taster this is held through video conference (via Skype) and will be delivered in English only. Its the participants responsibility to ensure that you have good internet access, and capable of running Skype preferably from a pc. Webcams are optional but audio is a requirement. An email with a link will be sent to you when you register. Please ensure your email address is correct. You dont have to have skype installed you can join by the web client.

REFUNDS : Unless a refund is requested 30 days prior to the course start date then no refund can be given. However we will be happy to reschedule the course as long as its taken with in 3 months of the original course booking date.
