Blended Paediatric First Aid Course delivered by the Hyde

About this event

The duty to have sufficient, qualified staff to deliver First Aid is a legal requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 and the need to have a qualified person for Paediatric First Aid on site is a statutory duty under the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Practical assessments were initially halted during Covid-19 and lapsed qualifications were allowed to stand. However, the expectation is now for those administering First Aid to be qualified, wherever possible, which can only be following a practical assessment.

This is the certified First Aid course that is a mandatory requirement of the EYFS. First Aid qualifications need renewing every three years to be compliant.

This blended course enables you to work through the theory in your own time and then book onto the compulsory face-to-face elements within 6 weeks.

This course is appropriate for all those staff who work with younger children and babies, who have no formal first aid qualifications. It will also be suitable for First Aid at Work qualified staff and other trained staff who need to meet legislative requirements in relation to providing first aid to young children and babies. The course content meets the requirements of the EYFS which states that At least one person who has a current paediatric first aid (PFA) certificate must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present, and must accompany children on outings.” (3.25 EYFS 2017). First Aid qualifications need renewing every three years to be compliant.
