Paediatric Syllabus

This two-day paediatric first aid course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.

This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days

Course content
 
  • First aid kit
  • The role of the first aider
  • Managing an emergency and where to obtain help
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation (Child, infant and adult protocols)
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Spinal injuries
  • Choking (Child, infant and adult protocols)
  • Asthma and diabetic emergencies
  • Head injuries
  • Extremes of hot and cold
  • Shock
  • Drowning
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Sprains, strains and fractures
  • Poisoning, bites and stings
  • Foreign objects
  • Eye injuries
  • Childhood conditions (e.g. meningitis an croup)
  • Sickle cell anaemia.

EMT First Aid Training

Learning First Aid is not only a legal requirement for the work place but also a important life skill that can equip you with the tools you need perform lifesaving care.
 
The benefits of training with EMT, is that our trainers are qualified Emergency Services Professionals and/or teachers who use their First Aid on a regular basis. They are also highly experienced and proficient First Aid trainers.

 

EMT are fully Regulated  to provide the HSE qualifications. Our regulation is through Ofqual, IQL and QNUK to provide accredited and regulated first aid qualifications.

 

Our courses are extremely practical and held in small groups, to give you individual attention and help you become confident and competent.

 

We offer a wide range of first aid and lifeguard training at our site in London and the South East weekly or if you prefer we can come to a location that is suitable to you. 

 

We value your time and wish to ensure that you enjoy the course and learn the skills you need for your work place or life. 

 

The most popular courses we offer are:

 

Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hr)
Blended Paediatric First Aid (6 hrs face to face, 6hrs online)
Paediatric First Aid (12 hr)
Family First Aid (2-3hrs)
Basic First Aid Workshops for Children (60-90mins)
Level 2 Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People

 

If you cannot attend the dates we offer, we could tailor a course for your needs at a time, day and location to suit you needs (minimum of 4 persons)

First aid is essential in emergency cases. Knowing what action needs to be taken to control an emergency can make the difference between life and death. Emergencies occur all around us, in all spheres of life. Someone may be injured at work, school or at home. When this happens, first aid basics will equip anyone around the injured person to reduce the danger posed by the accident.
