About this event

This course is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry.

This course is for:

This course is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry.

The course will cover:

Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child.

This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test. There will be chance to ask questions and put what you have learned into practice. Your tutor will give you feedback during the course and you will be able to self-assess.

This is a classroom course which will provide an opportunity to develop your First Aid skills in a friendly, sociable environment. This course may be subject to amendment depending on the current Government guidance.

Work outside of sessions:

You may be given tasks or activities to practise or prepare between sessions.

Additional costs and what to prepare:

There is an additional £50 exam/verification fee for this course payable at the Centre

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that enables you to move. Bring a pen and paper to make your own notes.

Progression from this course:

You may wish to progress to “First Aid at Work Level 3” which is a 3-day course for all ages, or progress to a specialist Childcare course.
