Aims and objectives

• To understand the complexity of children with chronic kidney conditions
• To effectively manage children with complex kidney conditions in the primary and secondary care setting and know when to refer for tertiary care
• To build links with the Evelina London renal multidisciplinary team

This talk will focus on the rationale for when and how to investigate a child for suspected renal stones. Gajen Sellathurai, one of the paediatric nephrology consultants at ELCH will be delivering this webinar and answering all your questions. We recognise it's a topic that often causes uncertainty!

·Which children with microscopic haematuria need a stone screen?

Which children with abdominal pain may have kidney stones?What to do if the stone screen is abnormal but there are no stones clinically evident?

· Which imaging investigations should be performed

When is genetic testing appropriate?

· Are there any implications to the type of stones found?

· How do we manage these children?

· If stones are detected, who needs referral to the paediatric stone clinic at ELCH?
