Content:
- The module focuses on the knowledge and skills required by nurses and AHP's who care for children with oncological and malignant haematological conditions.
- The module will cover diagnostics, treatment and management of childhood cancers, as well as genetic factors that influence treatment.
- Supportive care management will also be covered.
Assessment Work based competencies and 20 minute oral presentation

Once you have booked, on you will be emailed a link for an application form to the Univeristy of Southampton to gain credits for this module. Please state if you wish to gain these academic credits at level 6 or 7 and complete the forms ideally a month before the start date to ensure access to university systems is not delayed. If you are doing both modules 1 and 2 there is a discounted price for completing both modules and only one form will need to be submitted.
If you wish to complete this module unaccredited please respond informing us of such, the asignment will still need to be completed however.
Course Fees £600 for the module fee, and an additional fee directly to the University of Southampton if you want to gain academic credits
Prior requirements Must have at least attended a paediatric oncology foundation day, ideally be chemo competant and have attended the advanced oncology day.
2026 Dates 4th, 5th, 23rd, 24th March, 1st and 2nd April 2026 (The first day is face to face, the rest are via teams)
Assessment in person- 7th May 2026
