It’s nearly Samhain! Join us to celebrate the end of the harvest season to feast and face the coming dark of winter together.
This month, we have a special guest joining us, Paul from The Cunning Grove who will be leading a family-friendly Samhain story time, telling us all about the season, the folklore and how it inspired Halloween.
Although Pumpkins weren’t typically seen in our part of the world until after the British visited the Americas, we often associate them with this time of year – cosy nights, pumpkin picking and of course, trick or treating. Even though they aren’t typical to Samhain we couldn’t resist some pumpkin crafting, making wool or scrap fabric pumpkins together to take home.
The children’s activities will be pumpkin-themed potion making, plus a pumpkin pie role-play zone.
As a group, we will be feasting on a Thai-style pumpkin curry, and flicking through the Hubbub pumpkin recipe book to see what else we could make with the harvest at this time of year, or even your pumpkin after the 31st of October has passed.
Can’t wait to see you then!
