Event description

Description

On Sundays our Art Workshop will open its doors to public for a guided art classes for adults!

In this session we will have a study session on Egon Shiele with number of his works to copy! This workshop will concentrate on his use of watercolour, black ink, gouache on tonal paper, and the speed with which the artist worked. You will have a demonstration by the professional artist on how he made his famous drawings, and will learn to do alike.

During the session you will be making several images and not one. It is a light enjoyable art workshop preceeded by a PowerPoint lecture with highpoints of his short life and extenssive oeuvre.

We will look at the posture, the gesture, and study how Shiele treated the skin tone with his favourite materials.

Can you beat Shiele? You will be invited to travel back in time to enter into artist's shoes with having the subject matter and all materials prepared for you in advance. This will be followed by the art historical account of the period in question and the story of the artist. We will compare the artwork we created with the one of great master.

It is a life painting class and not copying the existing painting! You will create your own masterpiece in the manner of the great master! This particular class will have a life model!

This course of workshops is all about learning the techniques of various artists, their place in the art history, the range of materials they used and a subject matter they favoured, which we will mimic and study in detail in the studio, yet from life and not from a copy!
These classes will be limited to 9 people and will last approximately 3 hours. The studio will provide all the materials, protective gear, easels, canvases, paints, brushes etc, as well as tea and biscuits :) The price of the ticket will vary according to the price of the materials used in the class - please see the full calendar of events for more.
For three hours you will be able to enter the world of a famous artist in the artist studio and paint being surrounded by works in progress. It will be an insightful journey into art history through the prism of the artist!
I look forward to welcoming you in the studio with hopes that you will gain a brand new way of seeing painting upon your next museum visit :)
