Furniture Painting Workshop
Build your skills, learn new techniques and transform a piece of your furniture to take home on the day.
This full day painted furniture workshop, is run by Julie Eltham and her Cribb and Hammer team. Join us to learn how to paint furniture using the same techniques as she uses in her painted furniture business.
Very relaxed and enjoyable, you will build your skills, learning new techniques to help you to create the home you love and transform a piece of furniture in the course of the day.
You will learn how to:
Create an authentic French country look using autentico chalk paints.
Choose furniture to paint and other preparation tips.
Choose & match colours, tips and tricks of dealing with stains.
Distressing – subtle wear and tear vs. total destruction.
Waxing – learn how to use clear and dark wax to age furniture.
Workshop Format: The workshops run from 10.00 am to 3.30pm. We break for lunch, which is included in the day.
Experience: No experience required
What to bring:
All equipment and materials are provided and are included in the cost of this course. You will take away the practice wooden boards you work on for your future reference.
Participants should bring along a small piece of wooden furniture they would like to paint – ideally a chair, bedside table, small side table. (If you would like to come but don’t have a piece of furniture to paint please let us know).
We supply a choice of paint colours but if you have a particular colour of paint you wish to use please either bring your own chalk paint or let us know in advance so that we can arrange it for you.
We also recommend you bring a notepad and pen, camera and apron.

Venue: 24 Campion Road, Putney, SW15 6NW
Campion Road is a 10 minute walk from Putney Mainline train station, a 20 minute walk from East Putney tube and on the 337 bus route from Richmond and the 93 from Wimbledon.
There is ample free parking at the weekends. During the week we have access to two off-street spaces and meters on Campion and Hazelwell Roads.
