Painter’s Alchemy – A Medieval Scriptorium

Join conservator and historic arts specialist, Karen Slade, to produce your own piece of medieval art.

Using both traditional materials and equipment, make an illuminated letter from authentic parchment letters or an illuminated picture to take home. The picture will decorated with egg tempera paints, quills or reed pens and ink. Examples can be seen in Richard III’s book of hours. The session includes and introductory talk and demonstration.

MUST be pre-booked. Suitable for adults and older children.
