About this event

Hobbies • Drawing & Painting

Welcome to my next miniature painting workshop - this time, we'll be focusing on how to paint different types of faces!

Join for a fun and interactive evening where you will learn how to bring your model's faces to life. I'll be covering the steps to:

  • Build believable transitions on your models
  • Create high contrast to help draw the viewer's eye
  • Paint captivating eyes on those tiny faces!

For the session you will be provided with a pre-primed panel of faces that you will be able to take home with you afterwards.

What you need to bring:

  • Your own brushes
  • Paints you are comfortable with using
  • A painting palette for applying your paints. A wet palette would best for helping with consistencies

The session will take place at Fan Boy Three on Tue 9th September from 18:30 - 21:30. Don't miss out on this opportunity to demystify the process of painting faces and meet fellow painting enthusiasts. See you there!

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

Bring your own brushes and paints that you are comfortable using. A brush with a sharp point is a must when it comes to painting the eyes, but will also help with getting the focus spot on the faces. A wet palette for your paints will also help with creating the right consistencies needed to paint.

What will be provided?

The Faces Panel will be provided, as well as a selection of paints for you to try out if you choose to. We will also be providing the paper towels, water pots etc. All you need to bring are your brushes and the paints that you would like to try from your own collection.

Is it easy to get to?

Incredibly, based in Manchester's Northern Quarter, it is less than a 10 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station, Piccadilly Gardens or Manchester Victoria train station.

What happens afterwards?

After the workshop you will be invited to the group discord with access to a growing community of like minded painters. As well as that, you will have access to a 10% discount on miniature products in Fanboy 3 as well as discount codes for other products.

Is there parking at the venue?

There is not a specific car park for FanBoy 3, but there are several pay and display car parks in short walking distance, or there are plenty of public transport options.

Can I buy a ticket on the door?

No, tickets will need to be purchased in advance of this event and spaces are limited.
