Tutor: Jonathan Luxon A local professional artist who this year appeared on Sky Arts, Portrait Artist of the year, programme.
A 10 week course beginning 25 September till 11 December (with 2 week break 9th & 16th Oct) - Tuesdays from 2pm till 5pm
£300 - materials included (though you can bring your own brushes and palettes if you prefer) Alternatively you can pay per class and attend whichever suits you best £30 per class.
An On - going class for beginners to the experienced in which we will be learning the basics of oil painting, with an emphasis on learning how to produce a realistic rendering of form, light and colour. Focusing initially on still life we will move on later to other subjects. Structured guidance will be given within the framework of a traditional approach to achieving realism in oils. Producing realistic artwork is not so much a matter of talent as it is about learning some basic principles and procedures and then it’s mostly down to practice!
No experience is necessary, please bring a large rag and/or roll of kitchen towel; all other materials are provided although you are welcome to bring brushes, palettes and other materials you are used to using.
