Description

Painting: Methods and Materials

At this one day workshop you will be introduced to a variety of specialist painting methods and materials which will open you up to the possibilities of paint! You will learn the fundamental techniques and skills you need to make gesso ground, mediums, pigments as well as egg tempera, oil and casein paint.

You will have the opportunity to prime boards with the gesso ground, on which you can experiment with the different paints, mediums and techniques you learn throughout the day.

This class is suitable for all levels and will provide a base of knowledge for anyone learning to paint or who would like to expand their practice to making their own grounds, mediums, pigments and paints.

Please note that rabbit skin glue will be used to make the gesso ground.
