Event description

Description

We can all feel overwhelmed, fearful and anxious at times; whether this is at work, at home or in casual or formal social situations - and in those moments it can seem easy for us to respond harshly with inner criticism, chase perfectionism, or keep how we’re feeling bottled up whilst believing that we're the only one feeling this way.

Imagine how differently you would feel if at those times you treated yourself with kindness and care instead? What might you try and achieve if you felt more comfortable with uncertainty, making 'mistakes' and embraced your imperfections? (because we're all perfectly imperfect!). And how wonderfully freeing it would be to offer yourself the time to express, process and nurture what you are really feeling?

How might your view of yourself and the world change?

What if (for added bonus), you could also practise this whilst creating expressive pieces for your home? Gifts for friends and family? Or simply as a relaxing and enjoyable exercise just for yourself?

We’ll show you how with this painting or weaving for self-kindness workshop.

Throughout this 3-hour workshop you’ll uncover:

  • Why openness & treating yourself with more kindness is important for living your life in the way that you want to; with more creativity, courage and compassion to help you achieve your goals, fulfil your potential and feel more connected to those around you.

  • How simple changes in our language and creative activities can be used as a starting point, or to further practise self-compassion & self-care so that you’ll feel more confident handling life’s challenges.

  • How to tune in to your body and listen intuitively to mindfully experience and reflect on your emotions, thoughts & feelings - accepting them for what they are with kindness rather than criticism.

  • How to quietly express yourself, increase your awareness & help shift your perspective to see yourself in a different light.

As we’ll be focusing on self-compassion and self-expression with the creative activities (rather than technical skill), this workshop is suitable and beneficial to all, whether you have never touched paints or a ball of yarn or in your life, or have many years of experience behind you.

What's more, you'll also receive access to:

  • Additional video content with further insights into how practising improvisation through creativity can help further self-acceptance and develop beneficial life skills including improved communication and conversations.

  • A free self-compassion audio for a comforting meditation.

  • Suggested reading and watching list for further self-discovery.

  • Printable resources to continue nurturing kindness within yourself at home.

What can you expect?

  • Option to choose between either painting or weaving.

  • A small-medium group of like-minded individuals with similar feelings and experiences - A minimum of 7 attendees, with a maximum of 16.

Who will you meet?

Your workshop facilitator will be Stacie.

Stacie knows what it’s like to feel anxious in social situations and like she wasn’t good enough; believing she was unworthy of acceptance and keeping how she was feeling quiet and hidden away. Creative expression served as a starting point for Stacie to begin exploring who she was and how she felt which came about as an unexpected light whilst gaining a First Class Honors in Fashion Design - opening the door to a journey of healing and personal development. Stacie is now a certified NLP Practitioner and continues to use art and creative based activities on an almost daily basis to aid exploration and manage uncomfortable feelings.

I would like to come, but I feel anxious about meeting new people...

That's okay, we know how this feels too. Please contact Stacie at stacie@quietconnections.co.uk for a chat beforehand to help ease any anxious feelings. We can also connect you with another like-minded individual who is attending.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please contact Stacie for information at stacie@quietconnections.co.uk
