Acclaimed artist, Fi has been giving women a voice and capturing their essence on canvas, using her own unique style (see Fi’s story below), which has now reached all corners of the globe!

After Fi recently attended one of our healing retreats in November 2023, Fi and I discovered not only did we share a passion for the arts but we are also committed to empowering others to live their best life!

Subsequently, we invited Fi to co-host her first two art retreats, which were incredibly successful (see the Trustpilot link below) and subsequently, Fi has decided to return and she is incredibly excited to offer a further four painting retreats; two in November 2024 and two in the Spring of 2025

As well as being an amazing artist, Fi is a passionate teacher who thrives on seeing women and men celebrate every aspect of themselves on canvas, which helps them to builds self-esteem and identity.

Join us as we host Fi at our resident, full-board, five night, three-day art retreat, in Javea, Spain. Rejuvenating, with a touch of luxury and absolute tranquillity, surrounded by trees and elevated on the rugged cliffs of Javea, this spacious five-bedroom (double or twin) villa, each with en-suite facilities and breath-taking ocean views ensures comfort and relaxation throughout your stay.

Release your creative power and celebrate who you are on canvas or choose a person who has inspired you e.g., a family member, historical or current figure.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This event is for anyone who would love to emmerse themselves in a 5 night, long weekend which promises to nurture and awaken the creative being within, to explore totally unchartered painting mediums or add a new technique to those already used.

This weekend is for those who enjoy making new friends, eating delicious food, relaxing in the warm winter sun or exploring nearby areas of interest.

It's a weekend where individuals, friends and family can connect and share their stories and it's also a weekend to simply celebrate you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Arrive on the Thursday in preparation to start the retreat on the Friday.

Day 1 - Friday

• Yoga, meditation and tapping class (optional at no extra cost)
• Trip to local art gallery (lunch included)
• Research your subject and the textiles which represent their lifetime
• Sketch out plan for canvas
• Experiment using Acrylic Mediums to create texture
• Free time to simply chill, explore the area or take advantage of the optional extras (see below)

Day 2 - Saturday

• Yoga, meditation and tapping class (optional at no extra cost)
• Apply base coat and build up layers on canvas, using experimentation with acrylic pain
• Learn the use of fine brush work for details
• Start patterning and using textile inspiration
• Free time to simply chill, explore the area or take advantage of the optional extras (see below)

Day 3 - Sunday

• Yoga, meditation and tapping class (optional at no extra cost)
• Complete patterning and detailing
• Add sparkle (if desired)
• Varnish
• Share stories of the subject you have painted.
• Free time to simply chill, explore the area or take advantage of the optional extras (see below)

Day 4 - Monday

• Yoga, meditation and tapping class (optional at no extra cost)
• Free day to simply chill, explore the area or take advantage of the optional extras (see below)

Depart on the Tuesday.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COST

• Your canvases, all materials.
• Your accommodation.
• Three delicious meals per day and a complimentary selection of snacks, fruit, water, tea and coffee which are available all day. All dietary requirements can be catered for except for severe allergies, as we cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination.
• Daily yoga, meditation and tapping class (yoga mats and blocks provided).
  
  WHAT TO BRING
• If your chosen subject is not an historical figure, please make sure you bring photo references of your chosen subject.
• Clothing to suit the warm days but some warmer layers for late afternoon and the evening. Clothes suitable for yoga if you wish to participate.
• Toothbrush and toothpaste (all other toiletries are provided)
• A European two pin plug converter for e.g., your phone charger.

ABOUT FI MARKS

Fi Marks an extraordinary Derbyshire artist, who speaks for the women whose stories were twisted over time to become unrecognisable? Fi Marks, an artist who lives and works in Belper, has made it her mission in life to be the visual voice for women, both real and fictional.

“I noticed from a very young age that the women in the stories I loved were turned into shrews or made into villains, when in so many cases they were the victims in the stories. Oftentimes, having to be cunning to be heard in a world of men,” Fi says. “As I’ve gone through life, it’s become increasingly important to me to be heard. I still have a voice, but these women do not.”

In researching her subjects, Fi looks for stories that catch her in the heart. From Ann Boleyn to Morgan Le Fay, Fi researches her subjects relentlessly.

“With a background in theatre and drama, not to mention living in Belper, Derbyshire an area with a history of textile manufacturing and strong women, I love to research not only their stories but the fabrics of the times as well. My women are surrounded by my interpretation of the patterns and symbols they would have had in their lives.”

Fi’s art stands alone as she has developed a unique style over the years, with every painting deceptively simple on the surface but incredibly complex on closer look.

“My art sells around the world because it’s so different,” Fi says. “No one else tells the stories, has the symbols, and is so passionate about righting the wrongs in history and literature like I am. I know my clients see themselves in my art and are empowered by it. At the end of the day, that’s what matters.”

Art is therapy and hence, these two weekends go hand in hand with the option to choose from any of the following healing modalities offered by Deb, who is the retreat host and a certified Master Reiki Practitioner and Teacher www.reiki-rebel.com These options will be available during your free time, and can be added to your booking for an extra cost by using the 'Ad-ons' tab:

THE LOCATION

The incredible accommodation is surrounded by luscious trees and elevated on the rugged cliffs of Javea. This spacious five-bedroomed villa, each with en-suite facilities and breath-taking ocean views ensures comfort and relaxation throughout your stay.

FLIGHTS & TRANSFERS

For your added convenience, we offer affordable transfers to and from Alicante airport for £25 per person, each way, ensuring a stress-free journey to your tranquil retreat. Please use the 'Add-On' tab on the booking dashboard if you wish to select this as an option.

Due to logistics, we cannot guarantee transfers to and from Valencia airport, however, if we are able to offer this service, the cost will be the same as for Alicante airport.

If you choose to hire your own vehicle, there is plenty of parking at the retreat.

A taxi from either airport to the retreat will cost approximately €150.

EXPLORING JAVEA

Non participating partners are more than welcome and there is plenty for them to do, whether that includes simply just basking in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings of your accommodation and/or exploring the area, or exploring the nearby coastal town of Playa de Arenal, with its pristine golden beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and charming boutiques and beachfront restaurants.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

• Pay Eventbrite in full or
• Contact Reiki Rebel directly and use any of the following payment options:

1. Payment to Reiki Rebel (account details will be provided)

2. Credit card (we will invoice you)

3. Pay a 50% deposit now using either payment options 1 or 2 above, with the balance to be paid in full one month prior to the event start date

4. Monthly payment plan: depending on when you book, the cost will be divided equally by the number of months remaining before the event start date, with a Standing Order set up to pay Reiki Rebel on the 1st day of each month prior to the event and any balance paid in full, one month prior to the event start date. Any additional costs e.g., transfers or treatments can be paid at the retreat.

CANCELLATION

Sometimes life throws those unexpected curveballs and a cancellation is unavoidable! Eventbrite does not give the option to create an individual cancellation policy, only the option to review on a 'case by case basis' therefore, to give you the clarification you might be looking for, I have included what I believe is a fair and equitable outcome for all parties, based on the administration costs and loss of income, if your cancelled booking cannot be refilled:

• Cancellations made one month prior to the event, will receive a 50% refund. However, if we are able to fill your booking, you will receive a full refund less a 10% administration fee.

• Cancellations made within one month of the event date, are not eligible for a refund.

Just a few minute drive away from Playa del Arenal Javea, or a 15 minute walk, you can reach Cala Blanca, a beautiful and more natural beach on Javea’s coastline.
