Pal-entines’ Day Plus Size Swap Shop
Event Information
About this event
Shopping for plus sizes and trying to be sustainable is HARD so we're bringing back our Swap Shop to make it a little easier.
Join us at Peckham Levels, Level 5 (lift access to the right of entrance door) - follow the signs for the ADRC Swap Shop.
Bring your clothes to the “desk” between 12 - 4pm and we will sort through it as best we can in preparation for the swap, which will start at 2pm.
You’ll receive a token per item (max 5 tokens)
Come earlier the better (as there’s over 50 plus size swappers who have tickets yay!) and meanwhile you can grab some lunch from one of the verrrry tasty street food vendors at Peckham Levels
At 2pm the Swap Shop "opens" and you can start browsing and getting some new items.
This is the first time we’ve done something like this on this scale, so hopefully together we can make this a beautiful, sustainable experience that we could do more regularly!
Please bring clothes that are UK Size 16+ or XL and above.
Please bring all pieces clean and in good condition.
Bring clothes to swap that you think others will love!
We won’t be swapping any accessories (except for plus size suitable belts)
Come and drop off your clothes from 12pm if possible so it gives us more time to sort them.
Look at the bottom of this page for COVID-19 info, but of course we’ll have hand sanitizer available on site for browsing and masks encouraged if you want to wear.
About New Year Revolutions series
The beginning of every new year is flooded with society’s obsession with starting a new regime, a new diet plan, a new self-improvement project - as if to say there is something very wrong with us at the end of each year or that we haven’t done enough. The cliche of ‘New Year, New You’ encourages us to buy into an idealised version of our future selves, often with a fancy product or price tag attached.
WHAT IF instead of trying to change our body, we learnt to love and respect and live freely in the one we have right now?
WHAT IF we looked forward to 2022 and the future while still trusting our own wisdom?
Throughout January and February Anti Diet Riot Club are teaming up with Peckham Levels to host a series of events inviting you to care for yourself, your body and your community in a loving and soft way. From creative workshops to panel discussions and the premiere screening of ‘The Body Fights Back’ documentary, there’s a little something for everyone who wants to reject diet culture and embrace body acceptance.

COVID-19 stuff:
We've been looking forward to IRL events for two years and so we are going forward with them but keeping a keen eye on what's happening with the virus.
In the event we have to reschedule if we don't feel it's safe to proceed or due to government restrictions forbidding the mixing of groups in public, all tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates and refunds offered.
We encourage you to take a LTF before coming to the event and only coming if you have a negative.
Obviously, plesae do reconsider joining us if you have ANY cold or flu-like symptoms. It's safer to assume it's contagious and to rest at home until you're feeling well. We’re happy to offer refunds.
Along with the above staff, customers and visitors are advised to wear a mask in communal areas.
