This year we're raising money for the Rainbow Support Centre.

The Rainbow Support Centre in Fishguard was set up earlier this year by a very inspiring lady called Yvonne Pye. Yvonne herself has cancer and felt that there was a lack of support locally for the people of North Pembrokeshire.

Barrie & Suzanne Thomas from Eglwyswrw kindly offered the use of the building on West Street, Fishguard, and Yvonne put a post on Facebook looking for volunteers to help set up the centre. It wasn’t long before the wonderful people of Pembrokeshire responded. The centre was cosmetically updated, a committee formed and The Rainbow Centre opened by Jerome Flynn, patron, on March 14th 2017.

The vision for the centre is to make a difference to the people of Pembrokeshire with a cancer diagnosis or a life limiting illness. This is available for families and carers too.

A wide array of help is available including complimentary therapies, art and craft, activities, talks, support groups, nutritional advice, counselling, homeopathy, reflexology, massage and healing to financial advice, help with form filling and much more. Friendships are formed and it is a lovely place to go and have a cuppa and a chat.

It can be a very lonely and difficult road for the person suffering and their loved ones. The centre offers an opportunity of gaining that extra support. Talking to people that have been on the same journey can be very comforting. There are many options out there which can help make things a bit more bearable. The Rainbow Centre aims to serve the local community and to become a hub of support. Links have been made with organisations such as Macmillan, CWTCH and Paul Sartori amongst others.

The Pale Moon Big Night Out seeks to bring the local community together in a spirit of love, compassion and generosity. By supporting the Rainbow Centre, we want to increase awareness of the fantastic work they are doing there. We hope you will help us to raise as much as we can for The Rainbow Centre. It is wonderful that this centre has been set up locally for Pembrokeshire.
