Event description

Description

A look at Palestine

Two men Itamar an Israeli soldier and Bassan an ex Palestinian prisoner who have both suffered tremendous traumas share their insights into fear, victimhood, dehumanisation and killing. They consider what enabled them to breakthrough dissociation and denial and begin the process of recognition and dehumanisation.

In association with the website Moving Beyond Violence.org the evening will explore what enabled these former combatants to break through dissociation and denial and begin the process of recognition and rehumanisation.

MBV psycho-politically explores how it is that some people relinquish denial and violence and their warrior/victim identities. We ask what is the role of the interpersonal process in bringing an end to the current situation?

With Political Mind’s David Morgan psychoanalyst and Martin Kemp of Palestine Mental Health UK, Bassam Aramin, Itamar Shap and Irris Singer creator of MBV
