Description

This is the 3rd conference, due to the success of previous events, held by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital palliative care team. The aim of the conference is to share with health professionals a diverse range of issues that influence the patient experience in the palliative phase of their illness regardless of diagnosis. Lecturers have been chosen due to their expertise, passion and knowledge of the subject matter. The programme will primarily be of interest to qualified health professionals with an interest in palliative care and promises to be a thought provoking and valuable day.

Approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 5 category 1 (external) CPD credit(s).

  • Sleep in chronic illness - Dr Neil Stanley, Independent Sleep Expert.
  • End stage respiratory disease - Dr Elin Roddy, Clinical Lead for Lung Cancer and End of Life Care at SaTH
  • Music therapy - Andy Lowndes, Deputy Chair and 'Music Detective for Playlist for Life.
  • Frailty and dementia - Dr Suzy Thompson, Consultant Physician Care of the Older Person at SaTH
  • DNAR conversations- Dr Toria Stevens, Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Severn Hospice.
