A highly informative virtual sessions with our Hospice Medical team. During the session you will receive critical information on a range of emergency situations in a palliative care environment, and the action or treatment required.

Topics covered in the session include:

  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of common palliative care emergencies, such as spinal cord compression, major haemorrhage, superior vena cava obstruction and hypercalcaemia.
  • Identification of risk factors that may predispose patients to palliative care emergencies.
  • Management strategies for these emergencies, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
